I love my smoker. It's a Green Mountain Grill. I've added a 3 rack pull-out upgrade. I love that because it triples my grilling space. I believe I've nailed ribs. The others are acceptable but I'm working on improving them each time.
I think Ruby and the Rails web framework are great. I haven't created anything huge, mostly just fun little projects for myself.
